Vector Arms AK-47: Mini Review:
North Salt Lake has a wicked little gun company called Vector Arms.
Vector makes a couple nice politically incorrect firearms, namely
the AK-47 and the Uzi.

The one I picked was the basic model with
a folding stock and all black plastic furniture to keep things
sinister. It's a good looking gun with awesome reliability and
exceptional accuracy for the AK.

The Vector underfolder is easy to shoot
with the stock extended and locked. The stock isn't the most
comfortable to shoot with, but the advantage of being able to just
about cut the length in half makes up for it. The 7.62X39MM
round is not especially powerful. It is not especially
accurate. It's more of a social cartridge, it mixes well with
others and prefers groups. This is something the AK is
especially good at... delivering large quantities of power in short
order. It is able to do so thanks to one of the most brilliant
automatic rifle actions ever developed. The action needs
little attention, care, cleaning. If things get gummy inside,
open the action up, blast it out with a can of Hornady One Shot,
pull a bore snake through the barrel... done.

The Vector is better than most AK's
I've ever seen, the only thing I've seen better is a Krebs which
costs twice as much. Cost wise for this guy, your
looking at about the same price as a Romanian WASR-10 and an SKS.
If you want one, contact the boys at
FBMG to get yours on order.
When you do order one, order about 4 extra magazines to go with it
because they only come with one. Actually, mine didn't come
with any magazines at all, but did get a good price on the gun and I
had a couple mags laying around anyway.

The 4 Rules of
Firearms Safety:
1. Handle all
firearms as if they were loaded.
2. Never point
the gun at anything you're not willing to destroy.
3. Keep your
finger off the trigger and out of the trigger guard until you have made the
decision to fire the weapon.
4. Know your
target, and know what is beyond the target.
